The Liberty Tavern

Before diving into my review, I want to be clear about two issues: 1) I like neighborhood restaurants as a general principle; and 2) more importantly, I will like a restaurant better simply because it is in Virginia. I'm not necessarily proud of the latter, but it is what it is, and my "objectivism" should be considered with these facts in mind.

That being said, The Liberty Tavern, located in Arlington, is a fantastic neighborhood bar/restaurant, and is quickly becoming one of my staples. The menus includes traditional bar fare such as Hamburgers, Chicken Sandwiches, and the like, but the food is distinguished by its quality rather than its diversity. They seem to understand their target audience and pair classics (i.e. Pork chops and polenta) with the appropriate consideration. As expected with a neighborhood restaurant, the service is also attentive and personable - a major plus. All in all, its worthy of a three cutting boards.
